Game guide

How each game works

They all share one rule: one challenge a day, the same for every player, refreshed at midnight (Spanish time).

Guess the character: the classic Dragon Ball DLE

The heart of DragonWhatZ. Type any Dragon Ball, Z or Super character and the board compares them with the secret one across seven attributes: gender, race, hair, origin, affiliation, debut series and debut saga. Green means a match, yellow a partial match, and arrows tell you whether their debut came earlier or later. Extra hints unlock after 3, 5 and 7 guesses. Pick easy for the best-known faces, normal for heroes and side rivals, or hard if you know every fighter from a single tournament.

Play Guess the character

Dragon Ball Wordle

The classic word game with a Saiyan soul. You have six tries to find a five-letter word that can be a character, a place, a concept or a technique from the saga. Letters turn green when they are in the right spot, yellow when they are elsewhere in the word and grey when they are not in it. The category is shown from the start, and the word is the same in every language, so you can take on fans worldwide.

Dragon Ball Pyramid

A ranking quiz with a single shot. Ten face-down characters form a pyramid and the category of the day sets the order: anime debut, manga debut, height or birth year. Reveal the cards, swap them by tapping two or dragging, and hit Check when you are sure. Every character in the right place adds a point to the monthly leaderboard.

Hidden warrior: guess the character by picture

The scouter has caught a signal, but the image comes through blurry and in black and white. Type who you think it is: each miss reduces the blur until, after ten tries, the picture is sharp. Need help? Turn on color to spot hair, clothes or skin, although it counts as a hint when you share your result.

Play Hidden warrior

Word search · Dragon Ball

Find six characters and four Dragon Ball concepts. Drag across a word or tap its first and last letters. You can also use the arrow keys and press Enter at both ends. Words run horizontally, vertically and diagonally, including backwards. A new board every midnight (Spain time). Each language has its own game and ranking. The clock keeps running when you leave.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Dragon Ball DLE?

"DLE" comes from Wordle and is used for daily guessing games: there is one secret answer each day, and the feedback on every guess brings you closer. In a Dragon Ball DLE the answer is a character, a word or a picture from Dragon Ball, Z or Super.

Is DragonWhatZ the same as Dragon Ball DLE or DragonBallDle?

No. DragonWhatZ is an independent fan-made game. If you enjoy daily Dragon Ball DLE challenges, here you get four modes in one place, three difficulty levels, progressive hints, streaks, friends and a monthly leaderboard.

Which game should I start with?

If it is your first time, try Guess the character on easy: it features the best-known characters and the colors quickly teach you how it works. Then take on the Wordle, the Pyramid and the Hidden warrior.

Where can I find today's Dragon Ball DLE answer?

Today's answer is not published so nobody gets spoiled: it appears when you finish or give up. Yesterday's solution is shown in Guess the character, the Wordle and the Hidden warrior.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. Every game runs in the browser on your phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to download. To keep the same progress on several devices, link them from Settings.

How long does a game take?

Usually one to five minutes, so you can finish all four daily challenges in one sitting. Your game is saved if you leave and come back later.
